Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is introduced, with theoretical and practical issues related to agriculture highlighted. Next, three applications are detailed: (1) crop type mapping, (2) crop phenology tracking, and (3) Estimation of biophysical parameters. Some of the biophysical parameters that can be estimated with SAR are soil moisture and crop height.
