Gives an introduction to the field, including analyzing what part of the electromagnetic spectrum each sensor is sensitive to. Next, the principles of sensing such radiation is discussed, followed by an analysis of the current technologies used for generating a voltage based on a received signal. This is followed by an overview of the sensors that are now available for obtaining such measurements, both airborne and spaceborne sensors. An overview of planned hyperspectral mission will also be given.
