Principles are presented first, including basic concepts of radiation, and radiative transfer, atmospheric correction, LST and emissivity retrieval algorithms, as well as measurements from satellite to ground level. Applications are given next, including calibration/validation, water management, urban heat island, temperature extremes, and environmental pollution.
